We welcomed our first child, Reed, in January 2012 and his sister, Darcy, followed shortly thereafter in March of 2013. After having children, our love of the neighborhood grew even more. We appreciate living in such a family focused neighborhood with great early childhood education options.
What kind of work do you do and how can it benefit the growing families in Platt Park?
My practice focuses on insurance and financial planning for individuals, families and small businesses. I joined my father in his practice after moving back from New York City in 2008 and have been serving individuals and families ever since. I am passionate about working with our clients to build strong relationships and make sure they are financially prepared for the future. Often times, starting a family can be a catalyst for people to get their financial life in order. I’m here to help every step of the way and set them up for financial success in the future.
Meet Kate Cihon
How long have you lived in the neighborhood and how long have you been parents?
My husband, Matt, and I have lived in Platt Park since 2009. We found the neighborhood desirable thanks to its close proximity to restaurants, shops and events on Pearl Street . We also love being sandwiched between both Wash Park and Platt Park.
Where can we find your offices?
My office is at 1855 South Pearl Street, Suite 1 – dangerously close to one of our favorite restaurants, Park Burger. It’s such a luxury working only 4 blocks from home and also from my children’s school. I am committed to the neighborhood look forward to serving both the families and businesses in Platt Park.
What was a recent restaurant you visited and found truly family friendly?
We recently went to Maria Empanada on South Broadway for breakfast. They have the most adorable booth that is painted to look like a little van. Our kiddos loved the empanadas, and we loved the delicious coffee! Lorena, the owner, is also fabulous. They have a huge TV screen there and you can rent out the space for parties, put on Frozen, or the kid friendly movie of choice, and have the parents mix and mingle, drink wine and eat yummy empanadas. We will be returning soon.
